Rod found his love of photography in the school photo club, developing black and white film and spending too many afternoons in the dark room.
After graduating from QUT with an Industrial Design degree, he worked as an assistant for some of Australia’s best commercial photographers, setting up and managing the lighting and equipment for over 700 commercial photography sets.
Now, after shooting professionally for four years in Melbourne, he is building up a steady client base back in Brisbane, his new home. He has shot for commercial clients such as Amazon, Xero, ABB and Australia Post, and Variety Hour, Verge Girl, Best and Less and Mitchell Ogilvie in the fashion realm. He has a broad love for all types of image creation and refuses to be pinned down to just one genre of photography.
He is equally at home on location as well as in the studio, equally confident with sunlight or artificial light.
He spends his free time playing fetch with pugs and getting down and dirty with cars.
